Power and Electromechanical Department
The design scope encompasses detailed topographic surveys to create comprehensive topographic maps for the chosen route, incorporating overhead (Lattice & Monopole) and underground distribution networks, along with street lighting and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substations.
On the construction supervision front, the focus lies on managing the construction of medium and low voltage power distribution networks, covering tasks such as erecting and dressing MV/LV poles, stringing and binding, transformer mounting and connections, service connection installations, and comprehensive testing and commissioning.
SABA Engineering PLC was retained by the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCO) for the implementation of the Ethiopian Rural Electrification Project (REP) in many rural towns and villages in Ethiopia
The services provided under the above Rural Electrification Project include:
- Survey and Line Routing.
- Erection of Electro-Mechanical equipment; Erection of net stations including step-up transformers and cubicles.
- 15 and 33 KV distribution lines.
- 15/0.4 KV and 33/0.4 KV transformers.
- Street lighting.
- Electro-Mechanical erection of diesel electric power generating sets; The Civil construction works of diesel engine power houses and staff dwelling houses.
- Material transportation from EEPCO warehouse in Addis Ababa to each Construction site.
