Djibouti, Africa – SABA Engineering, a leading construction and consulting engineering firm, has won the project for the construction of the new headquarters of the Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD) in Djibouti. The project, commissioned by the Ethiopian Road Authority, is set to commence in 2022.
IGAD is a trade block consisting of eight countries from the Horn of Africa, African Great Lakes, and Nile Valley. The new IGAD headquarters in Djibouti will be a symbol of the organization’s growth and development.
SABA Engineering will provide consultancy services for construction supervision and design for the new IGAD headquarters. The building will consist of a main building, security infrastructure, and exterior areas. The main building will have a gross area of 12,400 square meters, developed on a sub-basement, basement floor, ground floor, and three floors above ground.
The security infrastructure will include security fences, lodges, a visitor’s screening area, and a utility building. The exterior areas will consist of internal circulation roads, parking, and green areas.
